More Than a Saree. A Story of Purpose.

Sonara began with a love for sarees, but its story is woven from something deeper — family, womanhood, independence and purpose.

The name SONARA carries a very personal meaning.

“SON” comes from Sonal, my mother - whose love, strength and values shaped the first threads of my life.

“ARA” comes from Vasundhara, my mother-in-law - whose wisdom, grace and constant support continue to enrich my journey.

Two women. One name. A lifetime of inspiration.

At the heart of the Sonara logo is a star, representing our belief that:

Every woman is the star of her own story.

The six flowing threads represent the qualities we celebrate in every Sonara woman -  Confident, Classy, Comfortable, Charismatic, Creatively Stylish and Connected to Her Roots.

She embraces tradition, but wears it in her own way.

Why Did a Doctor Start Selling Sarees?

“A doctor selling sarees?”

Yes. That’s me. ❤️

For over a decade in diagnostics, I have seen how access to quality healthcare changes dramatically as we move beyond major cities.

My dream is to someday build a high-tech diagnostic centre that brings advanced, reliable diagnostics closer to people in Tier-2 cities and smaller communities — at an affordable price.

It’s a big dream. And big dreams need resources.

My family would support me, but I wanted to build this dream through my own hard work, without putting their hard-earned money at stake.

So I chose another passion of mine as the path.

Sarees are my passion.

Entrepreneurship is my path.

Healthcare is my purpose.

Sonara allows me to celebrate India’s beautiful weaves and craftsmanship while building something meaningful of my own.

And every saree sold takes me one step closer to the larger dream.

A future where families don’t need to travel hundreds of kilometres for quality diagnostics. Where advanced healthcare is more accessible. And where meaningful employment can be created closer to home.

Some people see a doctor selling sarees.

I see one dream helping build another.
